- Among 115 foreign trade partners Turkmenistan now takes 40th place in foreign trade turnover of the Vladimir region. According to the results of 2020 foreign trade turnover between Vladimir region and Turkmenistan amounted 8,97 mln. It grew by 61,9 % (by 3,43 million dollars) in comparison with the same indicator of 2019. - Turkmenistan is a closed country. To get ordinary visa here is not so easy. If it is about international business events, then the visa can be obtained in two weeks. There are no barrier fees, and a duty-free trade regime has been introduced between our countries. Company presentations need only be given in Russian, it is perfectly understood here. Officially there hasn't been a pandemic of coronavirus in the country, everything works here. But people still wear masks. Now they have started actively vaccinating, including with the Russian Sputnik V vaccine. At the moment air communication between Russia and Turkmenistan is closed, but we hope it will be resumed soon, - Alexander Yelizarov says.
Speaking to the Chairman of the Committee for Tourism of Vladimir region Sergey Ogudin, Alexander Yelizarov invited the Vladimir operators to the tourist exhibition, which is held in Turkmenistan every year, he told about the resort area on the Caspian Sea in Avaza. The Trade Representation plans to organize the visit of Russian tour operators to Turkmenistan in 2022 to show Turkmenistan's potential.
The demand for Russian goods in Turkmenistan is very high, even despite the fact that the state supports its manufacturers. A lot of new housing is being built here, so building materials from Russia are in high demand. Taking into account that Turkmenistan is 90% desert, the demand for wood and wooden products (doors, plywood, various building materials, etc) is quite understandable. It turns out that people in Turkmenistan are very fond of crystal. And this is also a big plus for Vladimir manufacturers. Another passion is women's shawls. While here there is dominance of Chinese manufacturers, but we remember about shawls of Vladimir masters. Another demand of the country is veterinary medicines for animals.
But glass products will be in demand here only if they are significantly superior to local ones. The thing is that a huge glass works producing all kinds of glass except for greenhouses has been recently built in Turkmenistan. And now Turkmen glass is also exported, for instance to Uzbekistan.
- We ask all companies which have such competence to contact Trade Representation of Russian Federation in Turkmenistan (https://tkm.minpromtorg.gov.ru) and we will help you find partners in this country. In general, it is better to start any business by contacting the Trade Representation, so that there are no problems later. We always need an official request from the company, we launch it immediately. Here all letters are considered only through documents sent through diplomatic channels. The easiest way is to write a letter to the Trade Representative, with a letter to the Minister or Deputy Prime Minister, depending on the level of the project. We make a diplomatic note, the ambassador signs it, and that document goes to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. And on the basis of these documents the Trade Representation has the right to control the execution of this document, - explained Alexander Elizarov.
At the end of the meeting, Alexander Yelizarov, Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in Turkmenistan, answered the questions of the Vladimir region exporters and advised to actively use all services of the Vladimir region Export Support Center and REC Group (insurance, compensation of participation in exhibitions, subsidizing of logistic costs).
