On December 18, Governor Vladimir Sipyagin met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Russian Federation, Mr. Ngo Dyk Manem. Together with him, representatives of the embassy, business and the media, the Vietnamese diaspora in the Vladimir region arrived.
Foreign trade turnover between the Vladimir region and Vietnam at the end of 2018 amounted to $ 50.7 million. Compared to the previous year, its growth was 89.7%. Significantly increased indicators of both export and import. According to the results of 9 months of this year, the foreign trade turnover of our region with Vietnam is also growing steadily.
- Vietnam for the Vladimir region traditionally remains one of the main trading partners. In the structure of the foreign trade balance of our region, it takes 17th place among non-CIS countries. We look forward to strengthening cooperation in all areas: both in the economy and in the humanitarian sphere. Today, all possibilities are open for this, ”said Vladimir Sipyagin.
The meeting was also attended by Acting First Deputy Governor Maxim Brusentsov, Director of the Department of Investments and Foreign Economic Affairs of the Oblast Administration Denis Davydov, Director of the Export Support Center of the Vladimir Region Pavel Shibilov and Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the regional administration Igor Kaverzin. The heads of the specialized structural divisions of the regional administration acquainted the distinguished guest with the investment, cultural and tourism potential of the 33rd region. The parties discussed issues of cooperation and prospects for the export of products of enterprises of our region to Vietnam.
- At the meeting, I talked about the business mission to Vietnam, which took place in early December. He confirmed readiness for cooperation with the Vietnamese side. So, next year we will be happy to welcome Vietnamese entrepreneurs interested in products from Vladimir manufacturers. In addition, I informed our Vietnamese partners that within the framework of national projects for the export of services, our region is ready to receive Vietnamese tourists. In turn, Mr. Ambassador assured that the Embassy of Vietnam in the Russian Federation will provide comprehensive support in this matter, ”said Pavel Shibilov, director of the Export Support Center of the 33rd region.
Foreign guests were introduced to the investment and cultural potential of the region. A separate vector for the development of partnerships is tourism.
- This is my first time in the Vladimir region and is impressed by your rich history and culture. I believe that we need to more actively use the opportunities for the exchange of tourist flows. Russians increasingly choose Vietnam for their winter holidays: last year more than 600 thousand of your compatriots visited our country, this year we expect at least 650 thousand. Vietnamese are also very fond of Russia, but for travel most of our tourists choose Moscow. I think you can increase the number of guests in your beautiful region thanks to good logistics and transport links. It is necessary to strengthen information work through the media, to use Russian tourist offices in Hanoi for this, ”said Mr. Ngo Dyk Man.
In addition, the ambassador proposed to study the issue of concluding twinning relations between the Vladimir region and one of the Vietnamese provinces.
During the meeting, representatives of the Vietnamese diaspora in the Vladimir region thanked the leadership of the region and personally Vladimir Sipyagin for good living conditions, education and business.
After the meeting at the White House, the Vietnamese delegation visited Vladimir State University, Biotum and the city of Suzdal.
