According to the Decree of the Government of Russia No 364 of March 13, 2021, increased customs duties were abolished when exporting finished products, the production of which included foreign goods or components. This decision was actively promoted by the Russian Export Center together with the business community, the Ministry of Finance of Russia and other authorities.

It should be reminded that until now the rates of customs duties reached 20 thousand rubles per one declaration under the decree of the Russian government of March 26, 2020 № 342 "On the rates and basis for the calculation of customs duties for customs operations relating to the release of goods", under which the re-export procedure was extremely unprofitable.

- The procedure of processing of goods on the customs territory was not popular until today due to the high rates of customs duties. The adopted decision will make this procedure more accessible, and lower costs of production and sale of export products will allow exporters to offer products on foreign markets at lower prices", said Nikita Gusakov, Senior Vice President of the JSC "REC".

According to him, domestic producers are often faced with the need to use foreign raw materials or components to create products that are competitive in foreign markets in the absence of analogues produced in Russia.

Nikita Gusakov stressed that quality regulation and exemption from customs duties will be an incentive for the inclusion of Russian companies in global production and technological chains, including inter-country cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union.
