PAVEL SHIBILOV: “IN 2020, THE VOLUME OF EXPORT REVENUE WILL MAKE OVER 14 MILLION DOLLARS”

On March 19, the regional administration held a press conference of the director of the Export Support Center of the Vladimir Region Pavel Shibilov and his deputy Dmitry Menshov.

- Despite the coronavirus, which made its adjustments, the activities that we outlined will be carried out. This year, the amount of state subsidies to support small and medium-sized businesses amounted to 53.5 million rubles. The current situation allows enterprises of the 33rd region to advance to the markets of countries traditionally occupied by exporters from China. If last year the volume of export revenue amounted to 5.12 million US dollars, then this year the Center was tasked to increase it to 14.4 million dollars, and this is feasible. Export will now become one of the most important areas that will help the region maintain its previous position, ”said Pavel Shibilov.
    
So, already in 2020, one of the Vladimir enterprises signed an export contract worth almost 20 million euros, designed for three years. This happened after the exhibition, which was organized by the Export Support Center.

New directions that will be explored by exporters are Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Indonesia), Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa (Benin, Senegal, Nigeria, South Africa, etc.). Cases on entering the markets of Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan) of enterprises in the “cluster” format are being worked out separately in order to expand the share of presence.
This year, the competition “Exporter of the Year 2019” will be held, now applications from exporters are being accepted. Its results will be announced on March 31, until April 7 they will be published. The winners will be identified in five categories: the exporter of the year in industry, in the agricultural sector, in the services sector, in high technology and the breakthrough of the year. Winners will receive certificates for 100 thousand rubles each and will be able to use them to receive the services of the Export Support Center (purchase of airline tickets, foreign language courses for company employees).

In 2020, the main directions of export development of enterprises of the Vladimir region will be:

- Acceleration of novice exporters - preparing SMEs for export from scratch and then entering foreign markets.
- Development of tools and the necessary regulatory framework for working with large enterprises of the Vladimir region in conjunction with the Department of Investment and Foreign Economic Activities.

The Export Support Center was established three years ago. In 2017, services were provided to 172 enterprises, in 2018 - 255, in 2019 - 280. The main result of the work of the Export Support Center for three years is about 700 million rubles of supported exports in the form of concluded export contracts (for each ruble of state subsidies for all budgets levels account for 10 rubles of export earnings of Vladimir enterprises).

For three years, with the support of the Export Center, 65 enterprises concluded 128 export contracts: in 2017 - 25 contracts of 14 SMEs, in 2018 - 38 contracts of 19 enterprises, in 2019 - 65 contracts 32.

- Since 2019, the Export Support Center has been using a new tool of state support - the promotion of exporters' products on international electronic trading platforms. So, among 19 enterprises located on electronic platforms (Alibaba.com and Europage.com), 3 companies entered into export contracts, ”said Dmitry Menshov.

In 2019, 40 events were organized to promote foreign markets: 10 - business missions (six to foreign countries and four reverse). 30 - international exhibitions in Russia and abroad. 66 enterprises participated in 20 international exhibitions with an individual stand and 10 - with a collective one.

13 training seminars and master classes were held (certificates of training were received by representatives of about 80 organizations in the region). 36 services were provided to prepare enterprises for the conclusion of export contracts.
